The weeks turned into months and Father Robinson was moved out of Mercy Hospital by the bishop and assigned to three Polish churches. He was beloved by his parishioners as he spoke fluent Polish and his sermons had a conservative air. In time, he moved on to offer pastoral care at various nursing homes in the Toledo area and, by the time that 23 years had elapsed since the murder, he was semi-retired.

Alleged abuse

But, in late 2003, the Cold Case Squad decided to examine Sister Pahl's unsolved murder and spoke to a nun who claimed that she had been ritualistically abused by a satanic cult, which included Father Robinson, from the time that she was five years old, but that she had only recently 'remembered' the extent of her suffering. She alleged that she had seen a three-year-old girl being murdered and that she herself had been raped on an altar at the age of six. By the age of 14, she said, she was being used by men for sadomasochistic sex and one of her abusers had been Father Gerald Robinson.
